How to play

On your turn, write either S or O in any empty square. Every new S-O-S sequence you complete scores a point and lets you play again.

Why it’s good

The rules fit in two sentences, but choosing between S and O makes it feel very different from noughts and crosses.

Look in every direction

An S can finish a line from either end, while an O only works in the middle. Before placing a letter, scan horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines.

Two ways to play

General SOS rewards every SOS you make and gives you another turn, so one move can create several lines. Simple SOS ends as soon as the first SOS appears, which makes each square feel much more dangerous.
